Myths About Psychedelics Debunked

by Amber Lyon 2 Comments

In this video, Rick Doblin, the founder of the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), debunks traditional myths about psychedelics.  Doblin says one of the most profound myths is that the experience is a hallucination that comes from the drug and is not actually real.

“What’s actually happening is the drug is opening us up to ourselves, to our own unconscious, to things that have been deep inside our brains- deep inside our emotions,” Doblin states.  “And they’re human experiences that we access through psychedelics, rather than psychedelic experiences that are somehow a foreign implant that are not actually real.”

Very good explanation. I haven’t looked into LSD too much, it’s great to learn more of the truth!
