Humanity stands at a crossroad: the old structures of our passing paradigm are crumbling under their own unsustainable weight. The embedded materialism in our cultural narrative has allowed, promoted and rewarded extractive practices that have taken our species to the brink of extinction. A deep division among people, collapsing ecosystems and an out-of-control climate are the consequences of a humanity governed by ego and the rigid walls of separation. Yet out of the old we build the new, as new plants are nourished by the compost of the ones before. A new paradigm has arrived, and we are building this new potential for all humanity choice by choice, breath by breath, one by one.
Collectively It has been clear since the early Sixties–and foretold by the indigenous tribes before them–that our world is moving through an unprecedented transformation, akin to the birth of a new species. And as with any birth, there exists the potential for a miscarriage if the conditions are not supportive, nurturing, or grounded in health for the mother and child.
The moment of choice is here, now–and we are either living the new paradigm, or not.
It starts in each of us by re-orienting our gaze. Behind the noisy, needy, possessive, anxious ego, lies a vast spaciousness, deeper than the cosmos itself. Deep introspection reveals an innate wholeness and sense of peace. Your awareness is ultimately transpersonal, beyond you–connected to All That Is.
With this revelation we know and feel that we are all part of a living planet, connected in our core to every one and every thing. This deep knowing naturally blossoms as co-operation, kindness, peace, harmony and compassionate action. Sustainability becomes a way of life, as we slowly use our tools to redesign our societies and regenerate our soils.
The Physics of the New Paradigm
The bedrock data of our materialist operating system comes from physics. It is, after all, physicists who were the ones that saw regularities in the observable universe that could be measured and manipulated. However, in their quest to probe the nature of this alleged ‘material’ world, their Twentieth Century minds were blown when… they couldn’t find any!
Physicists discovered that at the heart of every atom was a pure vast emptiness, a quantum vacuum where only a 1% fraction was a ‘something.’ And this ‘something’ turned out to be there in pure potentiality and probability, manifesting only as a perception or measurement was taken.
In other words: this so-called physical cosmos was revealing itself to be a shimmering mirage, arising out of a Common Universal Field only when there was someone there to observe it!
Non-local, entangled particles further revealed that at the base of reality all is connected in a Unified Field where both space and time cease to separate. Our whole Newtonian worldview began to dissolve into a timeless quantum void that appeared to be the source of all particles and forces. At the same time the mystery of consciousness has shown its inseparability from the world of appearances, as countless experiments continue to demonstrate.
Not only was consciousness now necessary to make sense of existence, but it was increasingly revealed to be primary and fundamental to all-that-is. Our equations seem to only work when the observer is involved.
As we explore the nature of consciousness itself the apparent unity of all things begins to dawn, as science catches up to the ancient mystical wisdom of our ancestors.
Tools for Transcendence
The deepest question that any sentient being can ask is: who’s watching? In other words, what is it in us that feels whole, fulfilled and healed when resting in its own presence?
Many wisdom traditions speak of our spiritual nature, one rooted in a deep, timeless mystery that is at the core of who we really are.
It turns out that right behind our neurotic egos lies expanses of inner freedom, creativity, and bliss. Mystics, sages, and shamans throughout history have been researching these inner dimensions through a plethora of reproducible techniques and technologies.
But their discovery–mainly that we are One–has been watered down through the ages, showing up as ideology or dogma in consequent religious institutions.
Through diverse meditative and entheogenic practices, ancient lineage mystery schools instructed the devoted aspirant toward the golden prize: Union Mystica, the full revelation of the Oneness at the core of all that is. A merging that dissolved all limitation and separation, ultimately annihilating the root cause of all suffering: fear of death.
Our infinite and timeless nature is revealed to be the Ground of Who and What We Are.
After the return from Deep Realization, the natural outgrowth is a new life. One devoted to that of Unity, serving the whole as an understanding that It is another part of Ourself. An abiding kindness shines through, as the dimming ego is seen for the judgmental, self-obsessed limitation that it is.
We begin to feel each other underneath our masks, as the separation between us and everything around us slowly falls away. What emerges out of that revelatory vision is a new humanity, one grounded in altruism and mutual respect:
The centralized powers of ego begin to crumble as the peer-to-peer mesh networks of bio-regional communities are empowered to take care of each other.
The living web of Gaia awakens through us, as we collaborate to restore and regenerate the depleted lands that we have inherited.
We do this not out of ideology or dogma.
We do this out of love.
