An experience with psychedelic mushrooms changed my life. When done in a safe environment with supportive people mushrooms guide you through what amounts to a therapy session with yourself. Following my first experience I felt a peace I hadn’t known in years. I was able to work through memories of childhood trauma in a positive way. Much of my anxiety has been gone since that day. It took years to develop a working knowledge of psychedelic medicines independently due to the legality of the drugs. However MAPS, EROWID and the works of Alexander Shulgin and Rick Strassman were invaluable.
I no longer take any psychiatric medications. However, I don’t recommend anyone stop taking medications without talking with their doctor.
I use medical marijuana to treat my bipolar disorder. Sativa strains to help with depression and indica for mania, sleep and appetite. High CBD marijuana strains were also effective in helping me get off of opiates. A 1:1 or 2:1 CBD to THC strain of cannabis creates really effective relief for nerve pain as well as swelling. The combination allowed me to stop taking all pain killers including over the counter NSAIDs.
Overall I hope sharing my experience helps other people feel less alone in theirs. If you use psychedelics to help with PTSD, anxiety or other ailments you are not alone. There is a community worldwide of people just like you. What you are doing is what our ancestors did long before what we know as modern medicine.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I’ve been listening to many podcasts where mushrooms is discussed. I’ve been dealing with some personal issues without the aid of any over the counter or prescribed medicines. How do I find mushrooms and use them in a controlled environment? Is there a group I could join, where my experience would be safe?
